What Type of Dentures Should I Choose?

Complete Full Dentures

This is the traditional type that is designed to replace the entire row of teeth. The dentures are placed on top of the gums and the treatment is completed within 8-12 weeks after the teeth have been extracted or removed.

Partial Dentures

In contrast to complete full dentures, this type is designed to only replace some of the natural teeth. Partial dentures include a metal piece where a pink-colored base is attached and serves as a support for the denture.

Economy Dentures

Considered one of the most cost-effective types of denture, economy dentures are not custom-made. Hence, it may not fit comfortably or securely in your mouth. Nonetheless, if you’re low on cash and comfort is not a big issue on your part, then this type is probably your best bet.

Upper Dentures

As the name implies, upper dentures are those that are designed only to replace the upper part of your teeth. Hence, this type is the best solution for those who have missing teeth in the upper jaw.

Overdentures

This type goes hand in hand with dental implants. Overdentures are placed on top of the gums but can also be placed on the lower or upper jaw, depending on your teeth’ condition. Likewise, overdentures are removable, making them more comfortable and easy to clean.

Snap-in Dentures

When your goal is to get a stable and long-lasting denture, a snap-in denture may be the ideal type for you. This type is securely held in place by dental implants and is anchored onto the surrounding teeth to achieve more stability. Additionally, snap-in dentures are often availed by patients who don’t have enough teeth but still have sufficient bone density to hold a dental implant.
